Remote Ev Charger Installation information

What is the 80 20 rule EV?

The 80/20 rule in the context of EV charger installation suggests that approximately 80% of the benefits come from 20% of the efforts, such as focusing on the most critical wiring and safety considerations first. For remote EV charger installers, understanding this principle helps prioritize tasks like proper grounding and load management to ensure efficient and safe installations.

Can I make money by installing an EV charging station?

Remote EV charger installation technicians can earn income through service fees, project-based payments, or hourly rates, depending on their experience and the complexity of the installation. Success in this field often requires technical skills, certifications, and knowledge of electrical codes. Earnings vary based on location, demand, and the number of installations completed.

How much money do EV chargers make?

Remote EV charger installation technicians typically earn between $40,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and location. Skilled installers who work with high-voltage systems and have specialized training can earn higher wages, especially with overtime or project-based work.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote EV charger installation, and how can they be overcome?

Professionals in remote EV charger installation often encounter challenges such as coordinating with property owners and local utilities, managing site-specific technical issues, and ensuring reliable internet connectivity for charger monitoring. Overcoming these challenges typically involves clear communication, thorough site assessments (often using digital tools or virtual consultations), and familiarity with various charger models and their installation requirements. Staying updated on local regulations and having strong troubleshooting skills also help streamline remote installations and build client trust.

Both roles share certifications and work environments, but their focus differs based on specialization.

What qualifications do I need to install EV chargers?

To install EV chargers as a technician, you typically need a relevant electrical license or certification, such as a state electrical license or a specialized EV charging installation certification. Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards is essential, and some employers may require experience with electrical tools and equipment. Completing manufacturer training or courses on EV charger installation can also be beneficial.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote EV Charger Installer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote EV Charger Installer, you need strong electrical knowledge, relevant certifications (such as a Journeyman Electrician license), and experience with residential and commercial wiring. Familiarity with installation tools, electrical codes, and systems like circuit testers, conduit benders, and digital multimeters is typically required. These skills ensure safe, code-compliant installations and high customer satisfaction in a growing, technology-driven industry.

What are remote EV charger installation jobs?

Remote EV charger installation jobs typically involve tasks related to the setup, configuration, and support of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, but performed remotely rather than on-site. Specialists in these roles may assist customers with troubleshooting, provide technical guidance for self-installation, handle remote diagnostics, and manage software or network integration for chargers. While they do not physically install the hardware, they play a key role in ensuring installations are completed correctly and efficiently through virtual support. This job is ideal for individuals with electrical or technical expertise who are comfortable providing customer service and technical assistance from a distance.

Industry: Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Infrastructure
Location: Remote / Territory-Based
Compensation: Commission-Only (High Earning Potential)

Company Overview: Established in California in 2013, Green Water and Power has rapidly grown to operate in over 25 states, positioning itself as a leader in the sustainable energy sector. Named the #1 electric vehicle (EV) installer in America, we take pride in having deployed more than 10,000 EV chargers and completed approximately 5 megawatts (MW) of solar energy projects.

As an EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) certified turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm, we leverage our in-house expertise to efficiently manage and execute large-scale projects. Our dedication to sustainability and quality extends beyond project completion; we also provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services to ensure optimal performance for the projects we develop, as well as for third-party installations.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial 1099 Independent Sales Consultant to grow our presence in key markets. As an independent contractor, you will build your own pipeline, manage client relationships, and generate new business opportunities for EV charging projects. This role offers full autonomy with uncapped commission potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and generate leads within commercial real estate, multifamily housing, retail, hospitality, workplace, fleet, and municipal sectors.
  • Present and sell EV charging solutions, including hardware, software, installation services, and maintenance programs.
  • Educate prospects on rebates, incentives, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Secure electric bill, single line drawings and contract from clients.
  • Manage own leads, opportunities, and pipeline activity.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in outside sales, B2B sales, or technical/solution-based sales.
  • Experience selling to property owners, developers, or facility leaders a plus.
  • Knowledge of EV charging, renewable energy, or electrical infrastructure is helpful but NOT REQUIRED (resources provided).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently.
  • Existing industry contacts or networks are a strong advantage.

Requirements:

  • Need to have established business or a current W-2 position elsewhere.
  • Must have your own transportation.
  • Provide your own computer and equipment.
  • Responsible to pay your own expenses.

Why Work With Us:

  • Uncapped commission structure with high earning potential.
  • Complete independence as a 1099 contractor-set your own schedule and strategy.
  • Access to sales resources, marketing tools, and product training.
  • Fast-growing industry with expanding demand and recurring revenue potential.
  • Ability to add EV charging to your existing portfolio if you're already a rep or consultant.

Compensation:

This is a commission-only 1099 role. Commission percentages vary based on project size and product category.
