Job description

Prominence is looking for a senior Epic BI Developer to assist with a Cogito Cloud migration project.

Who We Are

Prominence is a healthcare and life sciences technology and consulting firm dedicated to helping leading organizations do more with their data. With deep expertise across the full ecosystem — spanning providers, payers, and life sciences — we turn complex data into actionable insight.

We deliver a full spectrum of services, including advisory, analytics, optimization, and IT staffing. Our work helps organizations operate more efficiently, improve patient outcomes, and deliver measurable financial impact through smarter use of data. Recognized as a 2x Best in KLAS organization, we partner with more than 120 health systems and 40 life sciences organizations, including 7 of the top 10 U.S. News & World Report-ranked institutions.

Through our life sciences brands, Tegra Analytics and WLH Consulting & Learning Solutions, we extend these capabilities to pharmaceutical and biotech organizations — combining data, consulting, and learning to advance commercial excellence.

By connecting strategy, data, and execution, we help organizations translate data into clarity, strategy into action, and vision into measurable results. At our core, we are a people-first, values-driven organization that believes strong teams and trusted partnerships are what ultimately make healthcare and life sciences smarter.

Your Role

Our consultants guide our customers through complex technology requirements to summit the challenge at hand. You will need to be able to create order out of chaos, and compile ambiguous information into tactical action plans.

Our ideal team members are humble, smart, and driven to ensure our customer’s success. This includes a passion to deliver high-quality results, while teaching our counterparts how to fish and grow the skills needed to support and expand upon the deliverables of our projects.

If this sounds like you, and you meet the requirements below, we encourage you to apply. If you know of someone else how would be a great fit, let us know!

Requirements

As a member of our Epic Consulting team, you’ll work closely with our customers to implement and optimize their Epic workflows. In addition to your Epic project work, you will help mentor and grow our customer’s teams, escalate issues, and guide projects to a successful outcome.

Key Responsibilities

Perform Epic-related consulting and advisory services in support of a Cogito environment migration to the cloud, including but not limited to the following:

  • Lead technical execution of the Cogito data model migration from on-premise to a cloud-hosted environment (e.g., Microsoft Azure), including Caboodle and Clarity data structures.
  • Validate data integrity, report parity, and performance benchmarks between the legacy on-premise environment and the new cloud platform.
  • Apply technical expertise to implement and optimize EMR workflows and data capture within the Cogito data model.
  • Design, build, and troubleshoot reports and dashboards using Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, and RW SQL against cloud-hosted Cogito data.
  • Optimize SQL development and reporting workflows for cloud infrastructure performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor customers to up-level their system knowledge and analyst skills on both Cogito reporting tools and the new cloud environment.
  • Analyze operational and business requirements and translate them into system configuration and cloud data architecture decisions.
  • Create build documentation, data flow diagrams, and migration runbooks.
  • Track and resolve project risks and issues, including migration-specific risks (data loss, downtime, report cutover).
  • Lead meetings and participate in ongoing work-product coordination across BI, infrastructure, and customer teams.
  • Transparently report on project status, migration milestones, and deliverables.
  • Develop robust knowledge transfer documentation to hand off the migrated environment and reporting suite to customer teams.
  • Additional duties as may be required to successfully deliver the migration project.
  • May be invited to participate in corporate functions, events, and meetings.

Desired Qualifications
  • Active Certification(s): Cogito Data Model, Cogito Tools
  • Hands-on experience with Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, and RW SQL
  • Experience migrating Epic Cogito/Caboodle/Clarity environments to a cloud platform (Azure preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience as a BI developer
  • Strong SQL development skills, including performance tuning in cloud data warehouse environments
  • Epic implementation and optimization experience
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts (cost management, security/compliance for PHI in the cloud, environment provisioning) a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver successful projects remotely
