Job description

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of related experience. Must possess sufficient educational background and/or experience to conduct clinical applications analysis and/or programming of complex systems, analysis of clinical workflows, implementation of solutions, and knowledge of system adoption strategies. An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, Clinical Discipline, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Epic Radiant certification (required or must obtain within designated timeframe).
  • Vast experience in EHR/clinical systems analysis, with strong focus on Epic Radiant or imaging workflows.
  • Proven experience leading complex build and implementation projects in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, radiology/imaging operations, and healthcare regulations.
  • Experience with system integrations, interfaces (HL7), and interoperability concepts preferred.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for formulating and designing specifications for highly complex software and programming applications and/or modifies/maintains existing applications. Investigates, identifies, and implements appropriate solutions for clinical systems to support new and existing initiatives, enhance patient care, increase operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. Responsible for acquiring  an understanding of the assigned system applications, functions, and features end-users would experience. Participates in and leads workforce groups to identify and employ technical and application initiatives for best practice and enhanced healthcare operations in alignment with UTMB’s mission.

Job Duties:

A Radiant EHR Clinical Solutions Analyst is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of highly complex Epic Radiant (EHR) applications. This role drives the implementation of clinical technology solutions that enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. The analyst collaborates with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to deliver innovative, scalable solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, build, testing, and implementation of Epic Radiant and integrated clinical applications.

  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives for complex clinical workflows through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of clinical and business systems.

  • Analyze, modify, and maintain existing EHR applications to improve functionality, usability, and performance.

  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Radiant workflows, system configurations, and optimization initiatives.

  • Investigate, identify, and implement technical solutions that support new clinical initiatives, regulatory requirements, and operational improvements.

  • Collaborate with physicians, clinicians, and operational leaders to translate clinical needs into system design and configuration.

  • Lead and participate in interdisciplinary workgroups and governance committees to drive best practices and standardization.

  • Ensure system integrity, data accuracy, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS).

  • Perform system testing, validation, and quality assurance for upgrades, enhancements, and new implementations.

  • Develop and maintain system documentation, workflows, and training materials for end users.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for application issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.

Work Schedule:

Remote position. 8 am to 5 pm, and on-call support for staff as needed. Occasional weekend work to support system upgrades or special projects. Primarily work from home, but expected to go onsite as needed for support.
