WestLand is adding an experienced Project Manager (Water/Wastewater Engineering) to our Engineering Team in Phoenix. WestLand's seller/doer model means that the Water/Wastewater Project Manager manages and designs water and wastewater projects, maintains client relationships, and ensures technical excellence in project delivery. This role oversees engineering design, project coordination, and staff mentorship while supporting business development initiatives and maintaining adherence to company policies and standards.

What will I be doing?

  • Manage and design water and wastewater improvement plans, master plans, and technical reports that meet engineering and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee and review designs and reports prepared by junior engineers, EITs, and CAD staff, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
  • Manage project tasks, sub-consultants, and schedules, maintaining communication with clients and leadership throughout project delivery.
  • Track project budgets, generate accurate billing, and ensure deliverables meet client expectations within established scope, schedule and budget.
  • Lead and mentor junior staff, providing technical guidance, training, and professional development support.
  • Identify training needs, participate in continuing education, and promote knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Support business development through client engagement, proposal development, participation in industry events, and cross-marketing opportunities.
  • Demonstrate self-management and professionalism by maintaining open communication, timely responses to clients & team members, resolving project challenges proactively, and promoting company mission and values.

What qualifications are required for this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
  • Registered Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Arizona.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of water/wastewater engineering experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a project manager in engineering.
  • Experience in proposal development and client communications preferred.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in water and wastewater systems design.
  • Proven project management and client coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with modeling software preferred.

The wage range for this position is $109,000 - $145,000 annually.
