The College of Letters & Science seeks an HR Manager to support the L&S Administrative Regional Team (ART) 2. As the HR Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by leading a dedicated team that supports the HR needs of our diverse community of students, faculty, and staff. Reporting to the L&S HR Director, you will lead a team of HR professionals responsible for delivering day-to-day HR, payroll, and benefits services to assigned units within ART 2.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Promote collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and a strong sense of community and belonging within the HR Administrative Regional Team.

  • Team Management: Provide HR expertise and oversee workload management to ensure the team effectively meets the needs of assigned units and employees.

  • Collaborative Partnerships: Serve as a trusted point of contact and partner for department administrators, fostering productive and collaborative relationships across assigned units.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, enhanced system utilization, and service excellence, ensuring compliance and responsiveness in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Identifies, proposes, implements, and interprets employment policies and practices for stakeholders, and provides recommendations for changes

  • Directs and manages unit operational functions and/or staff
  • Monitors programs and practices to ensure compliance with human resources laws, regulations, and institutional policies

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 up to $106,000 for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay within this range will depend on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Human Resources, payroll, or related role

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, staff, and campus partners

  • Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting HR policies and procedures

  • Experience with improving processes, navigating change, and/or applying systems thinking to work

  • Experience utilizing a Human Resource Information System (e.g. Workday, Peoplesoft, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct supervisory experience or equivalent experience leading/managing a team

  • Human resources and/or payroll experience in a higher education or similar setting
