• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms presented by clients.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that align with each client’s unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to provide effective treatment.
• Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, available treatment options, and self-care practices to empower their recovery process.
• Monitor client progress continuously, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care for clients.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by staying current with the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatments.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement.
• Advocate for clients, addressing their mental health needs and combating stigma associated with mood disorders.

This position primarily caters to individuals struggling with mood disorders including, but not limited to, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, which may include vulnerable groups such as the homeless, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. Your expertise and sensitivity in handling their unique circumstances will be key to fostering trust and rapport.

• Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
• Proven ability to establish a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients through exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy and a nonjudgmental approach to client experiences, combined with a genuine commitment to their recovery journey.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage a caseload effectively.

Experience working with mood disorders is highly desired, along with familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities. Proficiency in teletherapy platforms or virtual counseling can be an advantage, enhancing our ability to connect with clients.

Compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
