Position: STEM Researcher — Computational Fields
Type: Contract
Compensation: $60–$90/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 35 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Design complex, multi-step tasks using research skills like experimental design, hypothesis testing, and evaluation.
  • Author solutions in Python and notebooks, ensuring high rigor and accuracy.
  • Define criteria for sound scientific reasoning to distinguish it from superficial reasoning.
  • Evaluate model attempts and identify mistakes a working researcher would catch.
  • Collaborate with researchers and experts to maintain consistent and accurate evaluations.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MSc or PhD in a STEM field or computational social-science or humanities discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience in an active research role.
  • Significant computational work involving Python-based analysis.
  • Strong grounding in experimental design, hypothesis testing, and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with Git, IDEs, and notebook environments like Jupyter or Colab.
