Remote Entry Level Pest Control information

What are some common challenges faced in a remote entry level pest control role, and how can I overcome them?

In a remote entry level pest control position, one of the main challenges is effectively communicating with clients and diagnosing pest issues without visiting the site in person. You'll need to rely on client descriptions, photos, or video calls to assess situations and provide guidance. Developing strong listening skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with common pests will help you ask the right questions and offer accurate solutions. Staying organized and using digital tools for tracking client interactions and follow-ups are also crucial for success.

A remote entry level pest control job typically involves assisting with pest management tasks through virtual means, such as customer service, scheduling, or providing advice and support online or over the phone. These roles are ideal for those new to the industry who want to gain experience and knowledge before moving into fieldwork.

To thrive as a Remote Entry Level Pest Control Technician, you generally need a high school diploma or equivalent, strong problem-solving abilities, and basic knowledge of pest biology and safety protocols. Excellent attention to detail, customer service skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members are crucial soft skills. These competencies ensure effective pest management, client satisfaction, and adherence to health and safety standards in a remote work environment.

  • Retain and expand existing accounts through proactive client engagement and regular service review.
  • Attend industry events, affiliate with local apartment associations, and participate in networking opportunities to increase brand presence.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity, forecasting, and account data within Salesforce.
  • Stay current on multifamily industry trends, competitive activity, and market shifts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of successful Business-to-Business sales experience in the pest control industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and gross profit goals.
  • Strong cold calling, prospecting, and closing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to present confidently to property-level and executive audiences.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a territory independently.
  • Proficiency with computers, iPads, CRM platforms, and standard sales technology.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within your assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multifamily industry experience.
  • Existing relationships with property management companies or ownership groups.
  • Salesforce experience.
  • Experience selling a service-based offering with a recurring revenue model.

Benefits, Perks, and Culture:

  • Annual base salary of $55,000 plus uncapped commission potential.
  • Comprehensive healthcare plans (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life).
  • 401(k) Company Matching Plan, after 90 days of employment.
  • Maternity, Paternal, and Additional Leave Options.
  • Flexible Personal Time Off (PTO).
  • Travel and expense coverage for territory activity and industry events.
  • A fun, collaborative work environment with training and a feedback-rich culture.
