GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an Entry Level (1-3 years experience) "Traffic Engineer- in- Training" to work within our Transportation & Infrastructure Business Unit. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their college education and related work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's global environment. Successful completion of the FE examination and current EIT certification is required.

Office locations include Cranberry Township, Homestead, Cannonsburg, or Philadelphia, PA. Hybrid or remote work is available with residency required in the Commonwealth of PA. A successful candidate outside of PA must be willing to relocate.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.
  • Transportation design including traffic design analysis and roadway design.
  • Preparation of reports, maps, drawings, bid documents, and project plans
  • Proficient in Synchro and/or HCS software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledgeable in MicroStation with the familiarity of roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer is desired.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding projects and activities.
  • Evaluates solutions to complex problems.
  • Assesses courses of resolution to ethical dilemmas in complicated situations.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 1-3 years' experience working in the field of Civil Engineering, particularly traffic design and analysis.

Education

  • B.S. or M.S. Engineering, master's degree preferred.

Certification/Licensure

  • EIT Certification
  • Driver's License

Technical Responsibilities

  • Performs advisory or consulting work for the organization across broad project areas or within a specialized area with innovative/complex aspects.
  • Assesses practices and requirements to achieve sustainable performance of complex engineering projects from a systems perspective.
