Reporting to the Vice President, Cengage School Sales - Supplemental & Library Sales, the K-12 West District Manager position will coach an assigned sales team located in their region to successful sales performance and ensure goals are consistently achieved. You will provide leadership and strategic direction for assigned individuals in the field sales organization.

What you'll do here:
  • Coach a team of 6-8 experienced-to-entry-level field sales representatives.
  • Meet/exceed goals by leading and mentoring reps in their territories.
  • Initiate sales strategies and plans to generate new business.
  • Educate and model effective buying conversations within the sales cycle.
  • Evaluate and provide regular, ongoing verbal and written feedback on rep performance by conducting weekly check-ins to advance performance and development.
  • Be accountable for accurate monthly sales forecasts and set and coach to performance goals accordingly. Report outcomes for the pipeline using Salesforce, PowerBI and Excel.
  • Ride with reps to advance key customer relationships, discuss pricing, and close deals.
  • Analyze and control expenditures and budget.
  • Support product & sales skills training initiatives; monitor, evaluate and advance the skill level of entire sales team.
  • Assess activities and products of competitors to build territory strategies.
  • Facilitate and play key role at sales meetings and conferences.
Skills you will need here:
  • Tackle practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Supervisory and leadership skills including team development.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication.
  • Expertise in professional business-to-business selling techniques, including networking and negotiation.
  • Experience with digital tools technology issues in the K12 curriculum market.
  • Possess a working knowledge of financial procedures and controls.
  • Proven analytical and tactical planning skills are critical.
  • Travel required for this position is 30%.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from a four-year college or university required.
  • 5 years of sales experience with a minimum 3-years in sales management, and a track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals as a manager.
  • Experience selling digital products designed for K12 classrooms.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$88,600.00 - $115,200.00 USD
