Job Summary Job Summary The Long-Term Substitute Teacher provides full-time virtual instructional coverage for California Online Public Schools when teachers are on leave. Working from a home office, this role supports students across all grade bands by delivering live lessons, monitoring progress, maintaining communication with families, and ensuring continuity of instruction. Assignments typically will be a minimum of one (1) month up to five (5) months.

During the duration of an assignment the substitute teacher will be expected to work full-time (40 hours a week). Substitute teachers work under the guidance of instructional leadership and collaborate closely with school teams to uphold high academic expectations and student success.The start date for this position is August 31, 2026. Must have English Learner authorization. Must currently reside in California. Strong communication skills and comfort with technology and virtual learning platforms.

Previous experience teaching in a virtual or Independent Study environment. Experience working with diverse student populations. Strong communication skills and proficiency with technology and virtual learning platforms, including Zoom, Google Workspace, Canvas, and School Pathways.
