Job description

Comity is looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native) to help us develop the mobile application for our Guaranteed Income product. The app will integrate with Comity's backend via a REST API and allow our members to apply for the Comity Card, see upcoming advances, transaction history, and balance, manage their card, and settle up at tax time. We are building a multiplatform app with React Native, but prioritizing Android which has greater market share among our target customer base.
You will work with our engineering team to design, develop, test, and deploy our mobile app, which is built with React Native and Typescript. Tasks will include writing and styling React Native components; implementing event handlers, state management, and API client integrations in Typescript; integrating third party SDKs where necessary; instrumenting product analytics and application monitoring; and writing unit, integration, and functional tests. As one of our first engineering hires, you will have broad impact and ownership over our codebase, technology choices, and team culture.

Skills and Experience

Location
New York is the preferred location for this role but we are open to US-based remote engineers as well. Our founding team is located in New York, where we plan to establish an office. We also work remotely with engineers in Austin, San Francisco, and New Mexico. We plan to host collocated work weeks once per quarter in New York.
