Field Solution Engineer - Florida
Department: Sales CT
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Chester, CT
Reporting To: Christian Brewer
Description
Field Solution Engineers are responsible for the sale and implementation of our cloud-based products. Field Solution Engineers must continually update their knowledge of products while developing various tools to support current and future platforms.
Must live within territory area of Florida
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Makes regularly scheduled sales calls on assigned customers in your territory
  • Basic troubleshooting and installation on designated equipment
  • Demonstrates products in person or remotely
  • Keeps up to date on administrative responsibilities
  • Maintains daily communications with customers and management team to ensure resolutions and proper follow-up
  • Identifies and participating in sales opportunities such as new contracts, contract renewals and system sales
  • Partners with AMSR's and Regional Managers to develop sales plans and cloud-based opportunities within the territory
  • Other daily tasks that may be required

Scope
  • Knowledge of hardware install process and components
  • Proficient with software and programming vehicle configurations
  • Familiarity with cloud platform product and services along with AWS Cloud Services architecture
  • Understanding of cloud security policies
  • Knowledge of SaaS products and multi-tenant policies
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process
  • Experience troubleshooting and responding to customer concerns
  • Ability to lead technical conversations with technical client resources in support of a sale
  • Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Apps and remote video conferencing
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Ability and willingness to live within the assigned territory
  • Minimum of 50% of time spent traveling the territory
  • Resourceful with the ability to work independently
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask

Education and Experience
  • Training will be comprised of Company Mandatory Training, On-The-Job Training, and Off-site Training deemed necessary by Management.

Physical demands and abilities
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds
  • Travel may include evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays
  • Whelen reserves the right to move personnel between field locations to cover the workload
