Senior Energy Consultant

Help Organizations Navigate Complex Energy Decisions

World Fuel is seeking a relationship-focused Senior Energy Consultant to help commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, municipal, and nonprofit organizations make informed energy procurement decisions.

This is not a traditional sales role. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to your clients, helping them understand energy markets, evaluate procurement options, manage risk, and identify opportunities to reduce energy costs. You'll build long-term relationships while guiding customers through complex electricity and natural gas purchasing decisions.

Whether your background is in energy consulting, business development, account management, financial services, insurance brokerage, or another consultative sales environment, we're looking for professionals who enjoy building relationships, solving problems, and delivering value to clients.

You'll join one of the most established energy procurement and consulting teams in the PJM market, supporting customers throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, and surrounding deregulated energy markets.

What You'll DoBuild Trusted Client Relationships
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to commercial and industrial energy customers.
  • Develop long-term client relationships based on trust, responsiveness, and expertise.
  • Manage accounts throughout the customer lifecycle, including renewals, procurement planning, and ongoing energy strategy discussions.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and communicate market trends, pricing changes, and regulatory updates.
Advise Clients on Energy Procurement
  • Guide clients through electricity and natural gas purchasing decisions.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and procurement options.
  • Lead competitive RFP processes and supplier negotiations.
  • Help customers understand market drivers, capacity charges, transmission costs, and pricing risk.
  • Support energy management, demand response, sustainability, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts to deliver sophisticated market and risk management solutions.
Develop New Business Opportunities
  • Generate new opportunities through referrals, networking, chambers of commerce, trade associations, affinity partners, and existing client relationships.
  • Build relationships with business owners, CFOs, operations leaders, and other decision-makers.
  • Expand existing client relationships and identify additional opportunities to support their energy needs.
  • Present energy solutions and market insights to prospective clients.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in consultative sales, account management, business development, financial services, insurance brokerage, energy consulting, client advisory services, or a related customer-facing profession.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a way that is easily understood by business decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel locally to meet clients and attend networking and industry events.
Preferred Qualifications
