As a Remote Endoscopy RN, your daily responsibilities often include monitoring patient vitals and procedure progress via telehealth systems, documenting assessments in electronic health records, and providing remote support to onsite clinical teams. A Remote Endoscopy RN is a registered nurse who provides virtual support for endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies and upper GI endoscopies. They assist by reviewing patient records, offering telehealth consultations, and ensuring compliance with protocols. These nurses collaborate with on-site medical teams, monitor patient vitals remotely, and provide post-procedure care instructions. Their role helps enhance patient safety, streamline workflows, and support healthcare facilities with specialized expertise from a remote location.
To thrive as a Remote Endoscopy RN, you need a current RN license, experience in endoscopy or gastroenterology nursing, and strong clinical judgment in patient monitoring. Familiarity with remote telehealth platforms, EHR systems, and endoscopic imaging software is typically required. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and attention to detail distinguish outstanding candidates in this role. Job Details
• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting,
• Patient population includes adults with multiple co-morbidities, with a specialization in stroke (neuro) patients,
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-1:6,
• Procedures and skills include remote telemetry monitoring, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, IV starts, CVA management, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac,
• Epic EMR experience is required,
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM,
• Every other weekend required; holiday coverage as needed,
• Floating between all system facilities is required for travelers,
Job Requirements
• Active NC or compact RN license required,
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred,
• Experience with feeding tube care and management required,
• Experience with port access, blood product administration, central line, peripheral line, and PICC line management required,
• Experience working with a 1:5-1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio required,
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration,
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration,
