At NorthBay Health a Registered Nurse in the Float Pool you will provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care. You will also use a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient. In this position the RN may floats to all nursing areas within the two hospitals, based on the RN's individual competencies.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing,  
  • Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered employees) 

License and Certifications:

  • Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California. 
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required. 
  • National Certification preferred
  • Professional Organization Membership preferred

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Six months acute care RN experience required 
  • One full year of skilled nursing care, Long Term Acute Care, or Acute Rehabilitation is equivalent to six months of acute care experience.
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.   

Other: 

  • All RNs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to wear Graphite (Dark Gray) colored scrubs per the professional appearance policy.
