What is a remote emotional support animal?

Remote Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) are pets that provide comfort and support to individuals with emotional or psychological conditions, but whose services or documentation are obtained through online platforms rather than in-person visits. People seeking an ESA typically connect with licensed mental health professionals virtually, who can evaluate their needs and, if appropriate, issue an ESA letter remotely. These animals are not service animals and do not require special training, but they help alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues. Remote ESAs are especially helpful for people who may not have easy access to in-person therapy or evaluations.

What are the daily responsibilities of a remote emotional support animal specialist?

As a Remote Emotional Support Animal Specialist, your daily tasks typically include conducting virtual assessments of clients and their pets, providing guidance on the process of obtaining ESA documentation, and offering ongoing support to clients regarding laws and best practices. You may also collaborate with mental health professionals to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Strong communication skills and attention to client confidentiality are essential, as much of your interaction will be online or over the phone.

We are seeking an AVS Digital Project Manager with a strong background in customer-facing IT implementation projects-ideally within the healthcare sector and involving Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. This role is critical to the successful delivery, integration, and adoption of connected digital solutions for healthcare customers.

You will lead implementation projects with cross-functional teams-including sales engineers, digital architects, clinical application specialists, and technical services-through seamless onboarding and optimization of our SaaS platforms integrated with medical devices. To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong combination of project-based implementation experience, business acumen, a sales-oriented mindset, and operational execution discipline. This is a strategic, customer-facing role that demands clear communication, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and collaborative leadership.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Lead onboarding and integration of digital platforms (AVS and future digital health technologies)
  • Manage customer-facing implementation projects and ensure technical delivery
  • Apply understanding of digital connectivity and clinical workflows to deliver value
  • Orchestrate internal teams (Sales, Service, Clinical, IT) to align on implementation goals
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies
  • Facilitate meetings, lead crucial conversations, and ensure alignment across functions
  • Maintain and update project documentation, operational checklists, and templates
  • Proactively identify risks and ensure timely mitigation
  • Leverage project data to generate insights and support continuous improvement
  • Participate in operational excellence initiatives and contribute to scalable processes
  • Translate business goals and OKRs into actionable implementation plans
  • Communicate clearly and consistently across all organizational levels
  • Support change management and stakeholder engagement

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferredrequirements:

  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Operational excellence or business process mapping background
  • Experience with connected medical devices or digital health platforms
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and data privacy (HIPAA, GDPR, HITECH, FDA guidelines)

How to Thrive at Alcon:

  • Manage your own workload and schedule while hitting your set targets.
  • Build positive working relationships to achieve positive goals and business objectives.
  • Balance experiencing new environments and working autonomously in a remote sales environment.
  • Alcon provides robust benefits package including health, life, retirement, flexible time off for exempt associates, and much more!
