Remote Embedded Security information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in remote embedded security roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote embedded security often encounter challenges such as limited physical access to devices for testing, ensuring secure communication over potentially unsecured networks, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams spread across different time zones. To address these challenges, it's important to leverage remote debugging tools, establish robust secure communication protocols, and maintain regular virtual meetings to stay aligned with team objectives. Strong documentation and proactive communication are also essential for troubleshooting and knowledge sharing in a distributed environment.

What is a Remote Embedded Security professional?

A Remote Embedded Security professional specializes in protecting embedded systems—such as IoT devices, medical equipment, automotive control units, and industrial machines—from cyber threats. These professionals work remotely to design, implement, and monitor security measures that safeguard both the hardware and software components of embedded systems. Their responsibilities often include vulnerability assessments, secure coding, firmware analysis, and compliance with security standards. They frequently collaborate with development teams to ensure that security is integrated into the product lifecycle from the outset.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Embedded Security Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Embedded Security Engineer, you need expertise in embedded systems, cybersecurity principles, and proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, typically backed by a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with security testing tools (e.g., fuzzers, static code analyzers), secure boot processes, and relevant certifications such as CISSP or CEH is highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective remote communication are crucial soft skills for this role. These skills ensure the development and maintenance of secure embedded devices, which is vital for protecting sensitive data and system integrity in increasingly connected environments.

Job description

Company Overview

Docusign brings agreements to life. Over 1.5 million customers and more than a billion people in over 180 countries use Docusign solutions to accelerate the process of doing business and simplify people's lives. With intelligent agreement management, Docusign unleashes business-critical data that is trapped inside of documents. Until now, these were disconnected from business systems of record, costing businesses time, money, and opportunity. Using Docusign's Intelligent Agreement Management platform, companies can create, commit, and manage agreements with solutions created by the #1 company in e-signature and contract lifecycle management (CLM).

What you'll do

As Product Manager - Strategic ISV Products, you will define and execute the strategy for Docusign's integrations with key strategic partners and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs). Your initial focus will be on delivering seamless Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) integrations with the goal of building a scalable framework for expansion to other enterprise ecosystems. You will own the integration lifecycle, from discovery to adopted solution, ensuring Docusign IAM is a native extension of partner platforms for mutual customers. This is a highly cross-functional role, sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, marketing, business development, and the partner ecosystem. You will work closely with Senior Product Management and Business Development leaders, Prospects, Customers, Compliance, Security, Support while collaborating with User Experience, Engineering, IT, Marketing, Product and Program Management to help develop the roadmap, vision, definition, design and deliver the underlying platform systems and applications necessary to support continued system scale, a broadening product portfolio, the basis for new innovative product capabilities, and improve operational efficiencies related to these industries. Your objectives will be directly linked to business metrics such as revenue, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management.

Responsibility

  • Support the definition and own the execution of technical product strategy for Docusign's ISV integration platform

  • Own the end-to-end product roadmap for specific Docusign-integrated products and experiences with market-leading Enterprise Chat and Workflow ISV partners, from initial concept and partner alignment to development, launch, and post-launch iteration

  • Champion a data-driven culture, utilizing metrics such as adoption rates, feature usage, data synchronization success, and the impact on customer retention and expansion to measure success and identify new opportunities

  • Provide drivership across multiple product and engineering teams, using your influence and deep market knowledge to ensure core Docusign platform roadmaps (e.g., APIs, Maestro, Navigator) account for the needs of our ISV partners and integration use cases

  • Collaborate with Business Development, Partner Marketing, and Sales teams to build joint GTM plans, create field enablement content, and support our mutual customers with our partners

  • Own timely, transparent communication to leadership on the progress of their charter, attainment of key metrics, and strategic roadmap
