• Conduct thorough initial assessments and follow-up interviews to document clients’ progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Evaluate the emotional, behavioral, and mental health of clients to inform individualized therapy strategies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive intervention and recovery plans tailored for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Lead engaging and therapeutic individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe space for self-exploration and healing.
• Monitor and document the ongoing progress of clients during and after the implementation of treatment plans to ensure desired outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address complex cases.
• Facilitate referrals to external services as needed, ensuring continuity of care for clients requiring additional support.
• Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Presence of Mind, you will primarily serve a diverse clientele that includes individuals dealing with various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your work will also involve providing support to families and caregivers, enabling them to assist in the recovery journey of their loved ones effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural competence and empathy in responding to the unique experiences and needs of each client.

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in Illinois.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong understanding of therapeutic modalities and mental health treatment best practices.
• Excellent documentation skills, particularly in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR to maintain client files accurately.

• Prior experience in mental health counseling or related roles, providing evidence of effective therapy practices.
• Proficiency in addressing complex mental health conditions including co-occurring disorders and addiction issues.
• Familiarity with the guidelines established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
• In-depth knowledge of psychotropic medications and their impacts.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus.
