POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for performing advanced installation, startup,
maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of power equipment at customer sites across the U.S., primarily
focused on data center and construction applications. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently in the field. The Senior Field Service Technician exercises discretion and independent judgment in troubleshooting complex systems, supporting service execution, and ensuring high-quality outcomes for clients. This role primarily supports field operations and technical execution and does not have primary responsibility for overall project management, client-side decision-making, or operational leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform pre-site inspections, startup, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of power equipment including UPS systems, PDU, STS, switchgear, and related critical electrical infrastructure
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently in field environments
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, electricians, and manufacturers to support successful service delivery
- Apply strong technical problem-solving skills to ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Maintain accurate service reports, preventive maintenance logs, startup data sheets, and expense reports
- Interpret and apply schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to support installations and repairs
- Support project execution by assisting with coordination and completion of assigned service work under the direction of leadership
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior technicians or subcontractors when needed; this role does not have formal supervisory or managerial authority
- Identify jobsite challenges and provide recommendations to leadership for resolution rather than independently directing project outcomes
- Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability in dynamic field and client environments
- Manage time effectively to meet project timelines across multiple job sites
- Travel extensively (by vehicle and air), including overnight stays, to client locations across the country

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Frequent bending, standing, kneeling, and working in tight spaces
- Work in varied environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, outdoor elements)
- Frequent travel by vehicle and/or air; overnight travel expected
- Work may be performed in high-voltage environments and requires use of PPE
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, or technical field; military electrical training or technical certifications preferred
- Minimum 4–6 years of field service or installation experience with power distribution systems (UPS, switchgear, PDU, STS, etc.)
- Strong Computer Skills. Knowledge of Ethernet and Modbus protocols preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- NFPA-70E and OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong experience working independently in remote field environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Experience providing technical guidance or mentorship to junior technicians preferred; formal supervisory experience is not required
