Our mission is to enhance the health and well-being of the patients we serve, while giving physicians studies conducted to ABRET standards and giving our employees a genuinely great place to work. We're proud to show what's possible when people who care deeply about healthcare, and about each other, build something meaningful together.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform EEG procedures in accordance with Synthesys Brain Health policies and procedures, ensuring electrode application adheres to the International 10-20 System
  • Travel daily to patients' homes and clinical sites to deploy and manage ambulatory and video EEG monitoring equipment
  • Maintain patient safety throughout clinical and non-clinical events, communicating with other patient care support staff as needed
  • Recognize clinically significant events and follow company policy regarding critical test results
  • Correlate patient history and clinical symptoms to determine appropriate electrode application and recording parameters for conditions including seizure classification, stroke, trauma, encephalopathy, and altered consciousness
  • Apply working knowledge of medication effects on EEG background and waveforms, medical terminology, and EEG correlates for adult and pediatric neurological, seizure, and psychiatric/psychological disorders
  • Follow technical criteria for recording neonatal and pediatric EEGs, and recognize normal, normal variant, and abnormal awake/asleep patterns across age ranges
  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff, explaining the purpose of the EEG procedure and answering questions
  • Identify and perform basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification/elimination
  • Maintain correct electrode connections and apply knowledge of alternate montages, protocols, and equipment settings
  • Follow concepts of digital equipment and electrical safety within the EEG unit
  • Perform patient assessment related to care, including electrode fixation product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function
  • Complete required technical EEG reporting and patient logging per Synthesys Brain Health policy
  • Prepare and supply patient rooms/sites for EEG procedures
  • Contact supervisory staff as appropriate regarding problems within the EEG unit
  • Continue to learn and apply basic and intermediate EEG waveform recognition, relevant anatomy, physiology, infection control, current HIPAA practices, contraindications for activation procedures, and instrumentation preparation
  • Perform other related duties consistent with patient and technical care for this level
