Job description


Provide data management and relational database development support for projects and initiatives across Terracon services. Implement enterprise and relational database management systems. Perform data acquisition, data management, data analysis, and data visualization in support of projects and corporate initiatives. Determine appropriate data sources and methods, develop technical workflows and create technical reporting products. Support field data collection efforts by providing and configuring appropriate tools to meet accuracy and attribution criteria. Responsible for ensuring data governance and data integrity and developing technical documentation and training, as appropriate. Ensure that all data deliverables meet a high level of quality and comply with corporate standards.
Responsibilities
  • Research, acquire, compile, and compare data from public and proprietary sources
  • Perform data cleanup, processing, verification, and upload to enterprise and relational database management systems
  • Implement technical workflows
  • Document project data workflows, data sources, and data limitations
  • Perform QA/QC review of data
  • Promote and foster data stewardship, data governance, and data integrity
  • Assist in the development and implementation of relational database management systems
  • Assist in the development, automation and implementation of data workflows
  • Create and configure appropriate tools for field data collection or data review based on project needs
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, loading and visualizations with tools provided
  • Enhance existing systems and workflows with custom tools
  • Extract data from image and PDF sources
  • Develop and create data tables and other reporting products
  • Review data processing for efficiency
  • Coordinate with laboratories to manage project electronic data deliverables for database import
  • Follows safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, data science, environmental science, engineering, computer science or related field. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years' related experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with database management systems.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and various programming languages.
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required.
