Job description

The Coalition for College is seeking a Slate CRM Manager to develop, enhance, and maintain the organization's Slate CRM instance, used for customer relationship management across a variety of constituents including students, college members, and donors. As the administrator of the Coalition's Slate instance, which is used both as a membership CRM and fundraising CRM, the Manager will be the Slate expert within our seven-person team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record working in the Slate CRM, will strive for both creative solutions and accuracy, and will have a passion for improving access to higher education for all students. This position is fully remote and reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities include:

  • Functional, end-to-end ownership and delivery of all organizational business processes carried out in Slate, including (but not limited to):

    • Creating and maintaining accurate and secure organizational records for Coalition members and parents and individual records for diverse constituencies, including students and donors

    • Processing payments for event registrations, annual dues, and donations

    • Delivery of communications campaigns across audiences to support Coalition initiatives

    • Reporting on engagement of constituencies to support member recruitment and retention and donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship

  • Translating evolving business needs into durable technical implementations that align with organizational goals

  • Building audit and testing processes that ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data, reporting, and user experience across Slate

  • Creating and maintaining forms, queries, reports, rules, interactions, populations, events, portals, custom datasets, user access, documentation, and staff training

  • Evaluating existing systems and workflows to identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and performance improvement

  • Supporting assessment of and reporting on organizational programs by ensuring that Slate has appropriate data for analyzing impact

  • Researching and learning emerging technologies and techniques to continuously improve implementation of systems and team workflows

Required skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 5 years experience using and optimizing Slate as an administrator

  • Strategic thinker and self-starter, capable of seeing needs and opportunities and following through to make them happen

  • Problem solver and trouble shooter who can evaluate system performance, identify technical issues, and propose effective solutions, ensuring data integrity and accurate results

  • Analytical and systems thinking with demonstrated ability to assess the requirements of users to identify and propose solutions

  • Strong collaborator and communicator, invested in building relationships to accomplish shared goals

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote-first workplace

Preferred skills and experience

  • Familiarity with college admissions and the application process

  • Familiarity with use of Slate both for admissions and advancement 

  • Familiarity and experience with HTML, CSS, and SQL

  • Familiarity with Slate-based and third-party integrations for web measurement and analytics

Salary and benefits

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000. The final salary offer will be based on the candidate's skills, education, work location and experience.
