You will engage with students through telehealth sessions, using state-of-the-art software for video conferencing, digital record-keeping, and other essential clinical tools. Working hours typically range from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts and rotating weekend assignments depending on student needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students with a range of special needs to identify their unique emotional and psychological challenges.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that focus on the mental health issues affecting successful integration into the school environment.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions customized for ASD, learning disabilities, ADHD, and trauma-informed care, ensuring that treatments align with best practices.
  • Facilitate dynamic individual and group therapy sessions, promoting personal development, emotional regulation, and effective coping mechanisms among students.
  • Collaborate with other specialists, including educators, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive, holistic care for our students.
  • Offer immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring that students receive prompt assistance.
  • Deliver psychoeducation to students and their families about mental health conditions and available support resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, contributing to quality care and compliance.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and case conferences, sharing insights and strategies for improving student outcomes.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring practice adheres to the highest ethical standards.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of our mental health services centers on students within the special education program who present various mental health challenges, including ASD, learning disabilities, ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma impacts. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing their overall well-being, academic success, and social skills, reinforcing their ability to function within the educational system.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid LCSW licensure in the state of Connecticut.
  • Two years of post-licensure experience preferred, specializing in mental health care for children and adolescents.
  • Thorough understanding of mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Proficiency in conducting effective mental health assessments and formulating actionable treatment plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering both individual and group therapy using varied therapeutic frameworks.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills, with the capacity to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer software.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in telehealth service delivery and familiarity with remote treatment strategies.
  • Knowledge of school-based mental health initiatives and collaborative models of care.
  • Engagement in continuous professional education, with a keen interest in advancing therapeutic methods.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, our organization offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Healthcare benefits that cover a range of medical, dental, and vision needs.
