Role Overview:

Position: Business Analyst – Data Annotator
Location: Remote – United States
Employment Type: Short-Term Contractor / Freelancer
Engagement: Approximately 6–7 months (24–28 weeks)
Start Date: September 4, 2026 (Expected)
Schedule: Full-time, up to 40 hours per week
Availability: 8 hours per day with at least 6 hours of overlap with PST
U.S. Location Requirement: Candidates must currently reside in the United States.

About the Role

We are looking for detail-oriented Business Analysts, Research Analysts, Writers, Editors, Journalists, and other analytical professionals to support AI data annotation and quality initiatives.

In this role, you will review, analyze, classify, label, and validate data according to detailed project guidelines. Your work will help improve the quality, accuracy, and performance of AI models and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, classify, label, and validate data according to project-specific guidelines.
• Analyze content and apply appropriate labels, categories, or classifications.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency across assigned tasks.
• Identify discrepancies, edge cases, and potential quality issues.
• Perform quality checks and provide clear feedback when required.
• Follow detailed instructions and project guidelines consistently.
• Meet established productivity and quality expectations.
• Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining reliable availability.
• Support ongoing improvements to data quality and AI model performance.

Requirements

• Must be currently based in the United States.
• Candidates residing in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Vermont are not eligible.
• Bachelor's degree or undergraduate education in Engineering, Literature, Journalism, Communications, Arts, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Candidates without a Bachelor's degree may also be considered if they have relevant professional experience.
• 2+ years of professional writing experience, such as:

• Strong English reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace/Google Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Ability to interpret detailed guidelines and apply them consistently.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Reliable desktop or laptop with a stable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in data annotation, data labeling, content review, quality assurance, or AI-related projects.
• Experience with data interpretation and logical reasoning.
• Basic arithmetic and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence or machine learning projects.
• Experience working with structured datasets or quality-control processes.

Availability & Work Schedule

• 8 hours per day / up to 40 hours per week.
• Must be available during the production phase for full-time work.
• At least 6 hours of daily overlap with PST (Pacific Time) is required.
• Work availability may vary during different phases of the project; however, candidates must be prepared to commit to the required full-time schedule when production work is active.
