Logistics Specialist (Maternity Leave Contract - Fully Remote)

Are you a detail-oriented logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy solving problems, optimizing supply chains, and ensuring products reach customers on time and without disruption?
We're looking for a proactive Logistics Specialist to join our Supply Chain team on a maternity leave contract. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain & Logistics, you'll play a critical role in coordinating domestic and international shipments, managing retailer logistics compliance, resolving disputes, and supporting seamless order fulfillment from start to finish.

What You'll Do
Transportation & Logistics Coordination
You'll ensure products move efficiently through our supply chain by:
  • Coordinating domestic and international shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Managing transportation schedules while ensuring compliance with carrier and customs requirements.
  • Preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, including packing slips, commercial invoices, shipping labels, customs documentation, and Chamber of Commerce certifications.
  • Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving delays, customs issues, freight claims, and delivery discrepancies.
Order Management, EDI & Inventory Support
You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate order flow and supporting inventory visibility by:
  • Managing customer purchase orders, shipping requests, and related documentation.
  • Processing EDI transactions, including purchase order acknowledgements, invoices, Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs), and customer-specific labeling requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate order status within NetSuite, customer portals, and internal tracking systems.
  • Coordinating shipments for samples, trade shows, donations, and promotional materials.
  • Managing Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs), shipping adjustments, product destruction requests, and related documentation.
  • Supporting inventory accuracy through reconciliations, cycle counts, reporting, and logistics KPI tracking.
Retailer Disputes & Chargeback Resolution (Primary Owner)
As the subject matter expert for retailer logistics disputes, you will:
  • Own the end-to-end management of retailer chargebacks, shortages, late delivery claims, and compliance disputes.
  • Investigate issues by reviewing Proofs of Delivery (PODs), Bills of Lading (BOLs), ASNs, warehouse reports, shipping records, and communication history.
  • Prepare compelling dispute packages with supporting documentation to maximize successful recoveries.
  • Maintain detailed dispute tracking and provide monthly reporting, trend analysis, root cause identification, and preventative recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to reduce recurring issues and improve retailer performance.
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
You'll help strengthen our operations by:
  • Ensuring logistics processes comply with company SOPs, quality standards, ISO requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve logistics workflows, documentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Staying current on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and logistics technologies.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who combines technical logistics expertise with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related role (Consumer Packaged Goods experience is an asset).
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international transportation, customs documentation, freight processes, and HS codes.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as NetSuite, EDI platforms, and customer portals.
  • Knowledge of retailer compliance requirements and logistics documentation.
  • Experience investigating and resolving retailer disputes or chargebacks is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of freight costs, carrier performance, and transportation metrics.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, FDA, and Health Canada regulations is considered an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
