Job description

About the Role

PropLogix is hiring a Head of Government Sales to lead and grow a government services and software platform business that already serves state, county, and municipal agencies with exceptional client retention. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of an established, high-retention portfolio and build the strategy, team, and playbook to take it into new state markets nationally.

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely strategic one. You'll personally own the most important agency relationships in the portfolio, close new state and local government business yourself, and build the team around you as the vertical scales. You'll report directly to the CEO and have real authority over how this business grows.

What You'll Do

  • Set and execute the go-to-market strategy for expansion into new state markets
  • Build, hire, and lead a growing government sales team
  • Serve as the executive relationship owner for major state, county, and municipal accounts, and the escalation point for complex client needs
  • Personally prospect, pitch, and close new government contracts, navigating public sector procurement, RFPs, and competitive bid processes
  • Shape pricing, proposal, and contract strategy around public sector purchasing realities (sole-source justifications, multi-year terms, budget-cycle timing)
  • Represent the company at government and industry conferences and association events
  • Partner with Product, Customer Success, and Marketing to keep the roadmap and client experience aligned with government agency needs
  • Own forecasting, pipeline, and quota accountability for the vertical

This is a full-time, remote position. Standard hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work required as job duties demand (including travel to government client sites, industry conferences, and trade association events). Travel required up to 30-40% of the time, with more frequent travel expected during initial ramp-up and market expansion phases. Being located in Florida is a plus but there is potential for someone out of state since we are expanding outside of Florida.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of business development/sales experience, with substantial experience selling directly to state and local government agencies or municipalities
  • Prior experience leading, building, or scaling a sales team
  • A proven track record of quota attainment and account growth in the government/public sector space
  • Real experience navigating government procurement, RFPs, and public sector bid/contracting processes
  • Working knowledge of selling under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines
  • Familiarity with public records law, land records, or the real estate recording ecosystem is a strong plus
  • The ability to influence stakeholders at every level of government, from IT directors to elected officials
  • Excellent executive presence, negotiation skills, and written/verbal communication
  • Florida-based candidates preferred; strong candidates in other markets will also be considered as we expand beyond Florida, with some travel to client sites and conferences (up to 30-40%) is required regardless of location
  • Comfort with CRM tools (HubSpot) and standard Microsoft/Google office tools

Benefits

Insurance

  • Multiple health, dental & vision insurance plans to choose from
  • Employer-paid Life insurance, optional voluntary life for spouse, children, family
  • Employer-paid Short-term disability insurance
  • Other voluntary options include: LTD, AD&D, Critical Illness, Whole Life and other supplemental plans
  • Parental leave
  • Employee assistance program
