Medical Logistics Specialist
Multiple locations may include: Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Chicago, IL, Miami, FL, San Diego, CA, New York, NY, Boston, MA, Texas, and other locations.
This position is fully mobile, requiring travel between sites as needed. The first location to be filled is Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Job duties:
• Procure and manage medical supplies and equipment
• Perform inventory checks and maintain accurate records of all healthcare supplies and equipment
• Ensure the timely distribution of medical supplies and equipment to various departments within the healthcare facility
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand their equipment needs and ensure they are met
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for the procurement of medical supplies and equipment
• Monitor the lifecycle of medical equipment and manage their maintenance and repairs
• Implement policies and procedures for the distribution and storage of medical supplies
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations when handling medical supplies and equipment
• Arrange for the disposal of medical waste and expired supplies in a safe and compliant manner
• Conduct regular training sessions for healthcare staff on the proper handling and usage of medical equipment
• Adhere to the company's AS9100 and QMS policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the delivery of medical supplies and equipment
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as necessary
• Handle logistics-related documentation and records
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws regarding logistics and shipping
• Address any problems or complaints regarding delivery of medical supplies
• Monitor the condition of medical equipment and devices in transit
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals, suppliers, and transport companies
• Ensure patient confidentiality is upheld during the delivery process
• Some assembly may be required
• Participate in safety training and adhere to safety protocols
Education/Qualifications:
• HS Diploma or Bachelor degree and 2 years of experience.
• Proven work experience as a Medical Logistics Specialist or similar role
• Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency with logistics and inventory software
• Understanding of safety protocols and standards in healthcare
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
• Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish is preferred
• U.S Citizenship is required
*Military experience is desirable but not required.
*A valid passport is desirable and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
