About Pantheon

Pantheon WebOps Platform powers the open web, running more than 300,000 sites in the cloud for customers including Google, Princeton, Salesloft and Doctors Without Borders. Every day, thousands of developers and marketers create, iterate, and scale WordPress and Drupal sites to reach billions of people globally. Pantheon's multitenant, container-based platform enables organizations to manage all of their websites from a single dashboard. Organizations including Clorox and the United Nations drive results through accelerated development and real-time publishing using Pantheon's collaborative workflows.

The Role

As a Sales Engineer at Pantheon, you will partner closely with our Sales Account Teams to demonstrate the value and technical capabilities of the Pantheon platform. You will play a critical role in qualifying and closing customers by translating complex technical requirements into clear, compelling solutions.

This is a high-impact, highly visible role where you'll work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering leadership to shape how prospects understand and adopt our platform. You'll have the opportunity to directly influence revenue outcomes while helping evolve how Pantheon positions its technical value in the market.

You will lead the technical aspects of the sales cycle, delivering tailored product demonstrations, ROI analyses, and technical presentations that show how Pantheon enables customers to achieve their business objectives. You'll act as a trusted technical advisor to both prospects and customers, ensuring they understand the full strategic value of the platform.

What you need to succeed
  • Partner effectively with Account Executives to uncover customer needs and map solutions to business outcomes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Deliver customized product demonstrations and technical presentations (remote and on-site) that clearly communicate technical value and business impact
  • Lead discovery sessions to understand customer requirements and technical environments
  • Identify, surface, and resolve technical blockers throughout the sales cycle
  • Complete RFPs, RFIs, and security/technical questionnaires in support of procurement processes
  • Clearly articulate ROI and technical value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer teams to influence platform direction and customer experience
  • Secure the technical win for assigned opportunities
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in key technical areas, particularly modern web infrastructure and composable architectures
  • Contribute to internal enablement by sharing customer insights, field learnings, and best practices across teams
  • Operate in a learning-oriented environment with opportunities to grow technical depth, product expertise, and cross-functional influence
What you bring to the table
  • 2-3 years of Sales Engineering or equivalent customer-facing technical experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong technical curiosity and a continuous learning mindset
  • Experience with web infrastructure and modern web platforms
  • Domain familiarity with Drupal, WordPress, or Next.js
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-first approach
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business value
Nice to have
  • Deep experience with Next.js or other modern Javascript web frameworks
  • Experience with headless/decoupled architectures
  • Contributions to open source projects (especially WordPress, Drupal, or Next.js ecosystems)

The OTE range for this position is $146,000-$182,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including role scope, relevant experience, and geographic location.
