• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify emotional challenges and specific care needs, ensuring personalized treatment approaches are developed.
• Provide both individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing the emotional difficulties associated with aging, including loss, grief, and life transitions.
• Educate family members and staff on strategies to foster emotional well-being for seniors, equipping them with tools to better support their loved ones.
• Facilitate grief counseling sessions to help clients and their families cope with end-of-life issues, providing a compassionate space for processing emotions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans that support the mental health and overall quality of life of our clients.
• Document all client interactions and treatment plans within our secure telehealth system, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and regulations.

This role primarily focuses on elderly individuals facing various life challenges commonly associated with aging, including coping with the loss of loved ones, adjusting to significant life changes, and managing chronic health issues. Our clients often present with anxiety, depression, and grief-related concerns, requiring a counselor who can provide sensitive, informed, and effective support.

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred for eligibility for licensure.
• A completed full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting, providing hands-on experience in client interactions.
• Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Florida, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to build trust and rapport with clients swiftly.
• Strong listening skills, combined with an empathetic approach to guide clients effectively through their emotional journeys.
• Meticulous attention to detail and robust organizational skills, particularly in managing patient documentation and treatment plans.

• Experience working specifically with elderly populations, either in a clinical or community setting.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling methodologies, enhancing the delivery of care in a virtual environment.
• Background in addiction counseling or training in grief counseling may be advantageous.
