A Remote Drafting job involves creating technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software while working from a remote location. Drafters collaborate with engineers, architects, or designers to produce accurate blueprints, schematics, and models for construction, manufacturing, or other industries. Responsibilities may include reviewing project specifications, making revisions based on feedback, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in drafting software, and effective communication skills for remote collaboration.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a remote drafting professional?

As a remote drafter, your typical day involves interpreting design concepts or engineering sketches and creating detailed technical drawings and plans using specialized CAD software. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, or project managers via virtual meetings and rely on cloud-based file sharing and project management tools to stay connected. Reviewing drawings for accuracy, responding to revisions, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards are also routine tasks. While workflow may fluctuate with project demands, excellent organization and proactive communication are critical for staying on track and meeting deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote drafting?

To excel in Remote Drafting, you should possess strong technical drawing skills, proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit), and a relevant degree or certification in drafting, architecture, or engineering. Familiarity with industry-standard drafting tools, file-sharing systems, and virtual collaboration platforms is essential. Attention to detail, time management, and effective written communication are key soft skills in this role. These capabilities ensure accuracy, efficiency, and smooth collaboration with teams and clients across different locations.

Can remote drafting work remotely?

Remote drafting is a common practice in many industries, allowing drafters to work from home or other locations using CAD software and collaboration tools. Successful remote drafting jobs typically require strong technical skills, reliable internet, and good communication with team members. Many companies offer flexible or fully remote positions for qualified drafters.

Job description

Estate Planning Paralegal

Location: Fully Remote, United States

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 depending on experience + 10% Bonus

About Rosenblum Law

Rosenblum Law is a high-volume estate planning firm experiencing significant growth. Our team includes both in-office and remote employees across the United States, and we make a deliberate effort to ensure our remote staff remains connected, informed, and fully integrated into the firm.

We work closely with our remote team through frequent department meetings, firmwide all-hands meetings, remote happy hours, and regular communication with attorneys, managers, and support staff. Our goal is for remote employees to feel as involved in the firm's operations and culture as the employees working in our offices.

We value employees who take ownership of their work and are willing to step up when the team needs additional support. We offer performance-based bonus opportunities to recognize team members who consistently perform at a high level and contribute above and beyond the expectations of their role.

About the Role

Rosenblum Law is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Paralegal to join our growing estate planning team. This position is focused primarily on drafting trusts using WealthCounsel.

The right candidate will have substantial hands-on drafting experience and a strong understanding of trust provisions, distribution structures, fiduciary appointments, and customized estate planning language. This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have at least three years of direct trust drafting experience and be comfortable working independently in a high-volume, client-focused environment.

In addition to drafting, this role involves communicating directly with clients to clarify their wishes, gather missing information, explain next steps, and help move matters through the estate planning process.

Responsibilities
  • Draft revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related estate planning documents using WealthCounsel
  • Review client information, attorney notes, questionnaires, and design documents before drafting
  • Prepare customized trust provisions based on each client's family structure, assets, goals, and distribution instructions
  • Draft specific clauses and language addressing beneficiary distributions, trusts for children, successor trustees, contingencies, special circumstances, and other client-specific needs
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, or unclear information before documents are finalized
  • Communicate directly with clients to clarify their wishes and obtain information needed for drafting
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and other members of the estate planning team
  • Revise documents based on attorney feedback and client-approved changes
  • Review documents for accuracy, consistency, formatting, spelling, names, dates, and legal instructions
  • Help ensure matters move efficiently from the information-gathering stage through drafting, review, and signing
  • Maintain organized and accurate client records and matter notes
  • Meet drafting deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail
Required Qualifications
  • At least three years of direct experience drafting trusts and estate planning documents
  • Professional experience using WealthCounsel for trust and estate planning document preparation
  • Experience communicating directly with clients in a client-facing capacity
  • Strong understanding of revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and common estate planning structures
  • Demonstrated ability to draft customized clauses and trust language rather than relying only on standard templates
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fully remote environment
  • Experience working with clients who have minor children, blended families, special distribution instructions, or complex family circumstances
Employment Type: FULL_TIME
