About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, compassionate National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) to deliver personalized, evidence-based coaching through both virtual and in-person visits. You will support members in achieving sustainable behavior change, navigating health resources, and meeting their wellness goals.
As part of an integrated care team, you will collaborate closely with RN care managers, registered dietitians, medical providers, and behavioral health clinicians. This role requires strong clinical boundaries, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume coaching schedule.
How will you make an impact & Requirements
Important Requirements (Must Meet to Be Considered)
  • National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) - Required
  • Bilingual in Spanish - Strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional health coaching experience
  • Weight-management experience required
  • Certified Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Coach -Strongly preferred
  • Experience working with patients using GLP-1 medications - Preferred
  • Must be able to work Pacific Time hours (8am-6pm PT). Schedule is negotiable. Most work 4 days/week, with the first 3 weeks being 5 days/week."
  • Must be comfortable completing up to 10 coaching visits per day (phone or video)

Key Responsibilities
1:1 & Group Coaching
  • Conduct 30-minute individualized coaching sessions using motivational interviewing
  • Co-create SMART goals and provide ongoing accountability
  • Facilitate group coaching sessions and wellness workshops
  • Administer screening tools and health measurements
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
Care Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with RNs, dietitians, medical providers, and behavioral health clinicians
  • Support structured weight-management programs
  • Provide behavior-change expertise to the multidisciplinary team
  • Communicate via Slack and EMR to coordinate care
  • Conduct proactive outreach to re-engage members
Operations & Compliance
  • Manage scheduling, follow-ups, and member panel activity
  • Participate in wellness campaigns and client events
  • Adhere to NBHWC Code of Ethics, HIPAA, PHI/PII protocols, and IT security standards
  • Maintain a private, professional workspace for virtual visits
  • Participate in call audits, QA reviews, and feedback cycles

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience delivering care via telehealth
  • Salesforce and Google Workspace proficiency
  • Strong understanding of coaching vs. education vs. behavioral health boundaries
  • Proven track record of patient engagement and retention

Working Conditions

Compensation Range:
$26.62
to
$41.75
