Their tasks typically include identifying relevant information, assessing privilege, and ensuring compliance with legal protocols. These attorneys often work for law firms, corporations, or legal service providers, helping to manage large volumes of electronic documents efficiently and securely.

Remote Document Review Attorneys focus on legal analysis, review, and applying their law degrees and bar credentials, often working on complex cases. Remote Litigation Paralegals assist with case organization, document management, and trial preparation, typically with paralegal certification. While both roles support legal processes remotely, attorneys handle legal judgments, whereas paralegals focus on case support tasks.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Document Review Attorneys, and how can I prepare for them?

Remote Document Review Attorneys often encounter challenges such as managing large volumes of complex information, maintaining focus during repetitive tasks, and ensuring consistent communication with project managers and team members across different time zones. To prepare, it's beneficial to develop strong organizational skills, become proficient with review platforms like Relativity or Concordance, and establish a reliable remote work environment. Regular check-ins with supervisors and staying up to date on evolving e-discovery best practices can also help you succeed in this role.

What Is the Job of a Remote Document Review Attorney?

Remote document review attorneys evaluate documents for lawyers, reviewing and analyzing data to determine whether or not the documents are relevant to a case. Law firms employ remote document review attorneys to examine texts and records for cases with a high volume of papers from discovery. Unlike an in-house document review attorney, remote attorneys work from home or another location outside of the office. As a remote document review attorney, your responsibilities include highlighting and finding information that may need to be processed or used in court. You also utilize electronic databases that can review documents faster and reduce the number of pages that need to be read.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Document Review Attorney, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Document Review Attorney, you need a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and a solid understanding of litigation and privilege law. Familiarity with e-discovery platforms like Relativity, Concordance, or Logikcull, as well as proficiency in reviewing large volumes of documents electronically, is typically required. Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members are vital soft skills. These competencies ensure efficient, accurate document review and compliance with legal standards in a remote work environment.

Job description

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year

Why This Is a Great Opportunity

  • Join a niche, highly respected legal practice that has served healthcare professionals across the country for over 35 years โ€” stable, established, and still growing
  • Step into a true General Counsel role on meaningful client matters โ€” you won't be buried in document review; you'll be leading transactions and advising real clients
  • Work across a broad, intellectually engaging range of practice areas: M&A, contracts, partnership agreements, employment law, commercial leasing, construction, and regulatory compliance โ€” all through a healthcare lens
  • Enjoy the autonomy of a fully remote work model with genuine flexibility โ€” work from home anywhere in Georgia while staying connected to a collaborative, experienced team
  • Build lasting client relationships and develop deep expertise in a specialized, in-demand area of law that blends business acumen with healthcare industry knowledge
  • Competitive compensation plus a full benefits package including health, dental, 401(k) with matching, and paid time off

Location: This is a fully remote position based in Georgia. We welcome candidates located anywhere in the state, with a preference for those within approximately 1-2 hours of the Atlanta metro area. Work from home while making a real impact on the businesses and livelihoods of our clients.

Note: Active admission to the Georgia State Bar is required. Candidates without a current Georgia Bar license will not be considered. This role requires hands-on corporate or transactional experience โ€” candidates with 3 or more years of directly relevant experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

About Us

We are a boutique healthcare law firm with a national reach and over three decades of focused experience representing dentists, dental practices, and healthcare companies. We handle sophisticated transactional and business legal matters โ€” from mergers and acquisitions to compliance and employment issues โ€” with an approach grounded in honesty, practicality, and genuine dedication to our clients. Our team is small, expert, and deeply committed to the healthcare industry we serve. Confidential Employer.

Job Description

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of transactional documents including purchase agreements, partnership agreements, employment contracts, and commercial leases
  • Advise healthcare clients on business structure, governance, and regulatory compliance matters
  • Handle mergers and acquisitions for healthcare practices, including due diligence, deal structuring, and closing
  • Serve as functional General Counsel on complex, multi-issue client engagements โ€” owning matters from intake through resolution
  • Assist with employment and labor law matters including policies, agreements, and dispute resolution
  • Manage construction and commercial real estate-related legal issues for healthcare facility clients
  • Maintain direct, ongoing client communication and serve as a trusted legal advisor across multiple disciplines
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-stakes matters while independently managing your own caseload

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active Georgia State Bar admission (required)
  • 3+ years of corporate or transactional experience (healthcare law background a plus, but not required)
  • Demonstrated ability across multiple corporate practice areas
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage concurrent matters independently
  • Proactive, client-focused mindset with a commitment to professional excellence
