Key Responsibilities

  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders and treatment strategies to foster understanding and engagement in the recovery process.
  • Monitor client progress throughout treatment, making data-informed adjustments to their treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care tailored to clients’ overall mental and physical health.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all client sessions and treatment plans in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in ongoing case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities to continuously improve clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Advocate for clients by promoting awareness and understanding of mental health issues within the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with individuals experiencing various mood disorders, ranging from mild anxiety to severe depressive episodes. Your client base will include adolescents and adults from diverse backgrounds, many of whom may also face socio-economic challenges. Understanding the unique narratives and challenges of each client will be vital as you tailor your approach to their individual journeys toward recovery.

Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly CBT and DBT, with the ability to adapt techniques to suit each client.
  • A solid understanding of psychopharmacology and a strong ability to collaborate with psychiatrists and other medical professionals.
