Allocore building something big with a major federal client and are looking for engineers who want to do more than just ship code-you'll help shape the platform, the architecture, and how we scale. We're looking for a Software Engineer with strong Python and Django experience to help design and build scalable, high-performance applications.You'll work across the full development lifecycle-from architecture to implementation to optimization-while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to the DC area for key team and client engagements.
What You'll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using Python and Django
  • Develop robust APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF)
  • Implement asynchronous processing (e.g., Celery) for high-performance workloads
  • Optimize data handling and performance with PostgreSQL and caching strategies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers
  • Participate in and lead code reviews, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and performance issues
  • Contribute to system architecture and technical direction, including microservices design
  • Mentor junior engineers and support a culture of continuous improvement

What We're Looking For:
  • Occasional travel to the DC area for key team and client engagements.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, with strong Python and Django expertise
  • Experience building scalable, high-performance web applications
  • Strong understanding of APIs, web technologies, and backend architecture
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Experience with modern development tools (Git, CI/CD, etc.)
