Job description

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Group has an opening for a Regional Sales Director covering the NE region of the United State. The role will leads sales and distribution within an assigned territory and is responsible for developing and executing a territory strategy that drives growth, retention, profitability, and overall market development. This role aligns company objectives with local market opportunities by leading agency recruitment, strengthening distribution partnerships, and serving as the primary connection between the field and Pharmacists Mutual's underwriting, marketing, and distribution services teams to ensure strategic alignment and coordinated execution.
Essential Functions
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners to drive growth, retention, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute the territory sales plan, aligning company objectives with market opportunities.
  • Leads annual segmentation of distribution partners and creates tailored engagement plans.
  • Identify and appoint new partners aligned with company goals and underwriting appetite.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, and distribution services to ensure coordinated execution.
  • Position the Company as a top underwriter, expand shelf space, and drive growth aligned with partner performance.
  • Use market intelligence and analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and provide insights to leadership.
  • Communicate The Company's value proposition to strengthen market differentiation and partner alignment.
  • Drive territory performance against established growth, retention, and profitability goals.
  • Represent the Company at industry events to build brand awareness and expand relationships.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven success in selling and expanding Property & Casualty insurance products.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding new business, retention, and profitability goals.
  • Strong understanding of insurance distribution models and agency relationship management.
  • Ability to develop and execute territory strategies and use performance data to inform decisions.
  • Skilled at influencing and aligning distribution partners, underwriters, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in interpreting underwriting guidelines and appetite to produce high-quality submissions.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator with strong presentation skills.
  • Apply creativity and innovation to improve business performance and execution.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, analytics tools, and business software applications.
  • Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and collaboration while working independently.

Experience and Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 20 years of related experience with at least 5 years in leadership; or
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent and 15 years of related experience with at least 3 years in leadership

OR
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience with at least 2 years in leadership; or
  • Master's Degree and 6 years of related experience with at least 1 year in leadership

Special Requirements, Licenses and Certificates
  • Experience in territory manager, distribution management or similar role, preferably within commercial lines insurance
