Job description

The Vice President position reports to the Senior Vice President of Partner Care (primary) and the President (secondarily). The position is part-time (starting at 10-20 hours) and is a work-from-home position anywhere in the United States. Duties include:

  • New Partnership Development
    • Initiate Conversation. Contact leadership of rescue missions and other Christian ministries that serve the poor to set up initial meetings.
    • Relationship Building. Continue to develop relationships with rescue missions and other Christian ministries that have expressed interest until they either send us students or tell us they are not interested.
  • Develop & Deepen Existing Partnerships
    • Deepen Relationships. Foster relationships to grow existing partnerships through regular meetings to increase student referrals to City Vision.
    • Creative Solutions. Work with CVU academic leadership to develop creative solutions to help address the overall educational and training needs of partners, staff and students to increase their ability to outsource to CVU.
  • Conferences and Events
    • Attend conferences, workshops and events to set up meetings at the conference and following the conference.
  • General
    • Attend regular staff meetings & supervision meetings including an annual in-person staff gathering.
    • Participate and lead staff chapel and prayer on Zoom.
    • Assist in areas as needed by mutual agreement.

Required:

  • Individuals must have at least an accredited Bachelor's degree 
  • Previous work experience with Gospel Rescue Missions, Salvation Army, Adult & Teen Challenge, YWAM or similar ministry
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to our Christian mission, vision and values focused on serving those who are poor and addicted
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
  • Very strong technical expertise is required (extensive experience or training with Customer Relationship Management Database, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets and Windows).
  • Comfortable initiating cold outreach and following up persistently and professionally
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident alien with valid work authorization.

This position is classified as a Ministerial role, as it involves the distinct religious functions of: 1) supporting the spiritual needs of partner ministries and students and 2) leading the staff in corporate worship and prayer.

  • Stationary & Digital Work: Must remain stationary (75-90% of time) to operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Requires repetitive hand/finger motion for extensive data entry and navigating multiple software systems.
  • Visual & Auditory: Requires close visual acuity to analyze financial data and detect minute errors in regulations. Must clearly communicate complex instructions via video conferencing and phone.

2. Mental & Cognitive Demands

  • Agility & Self-Regulation: Requires adaptability to fluctuating priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must self-manage time and focus effectively without direct supervision.
  • Spiritual Leadership: Must possess the spiritual maturity and cognitive focus to align with the Christian values of partners as well as lead staff in prayer and chapel services, requiring the ability to discern and serve spiritual needs.

3. Emotional Demands

  • Relational Complexity and Resilience : Must demonstrate high emotional intelligence to navigate complex partner dynamics, rejection (when partners are "not interested"), and strategic relationship deepening.
  • Resilience & Empathy: On occasion will interact with at-risk populations in crisis. Must maintain professional composure and empathy while enforcing policies.

4. Work Environment

  • Remote Compliance: 100% remote. Must provide a private, quiet workspace free of distractions to ensure FERPA compliance.
  • Tech Proficiency: Requires reliable internet and fluency in digital workflows (Zoom, Google Workspace, SIS, CRM).
