Job description

The Senior Research Librarian provides research and reference to attorneys and staff. This role emphasizes excellent client service, cost management, and collaboration in knowledge management initiatives. Key Responsibilities- deliver legal and non-legal research, reference, and document retrieval services.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years legal reference and research experience, preferable in mid to large law firm or comparable environment.
  • MLS/MLIS
  • Strong research skills with the ability to think critically about tools and methodologies, conduct cost-effective and efficient searches, and clearly communicate findings
  • Proficient in legal, business, scientific and general research resources, including platforms as Westlaw, Practical Law, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw
  • Knowledge of other tools such as Checkpoint, Docket Navigator, PitchBooks, and others, skilled in setting up current awareness and litigation alerts.
  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure and with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills/ability to communicate clearly and effectively with attorneys and staff
  • Maintains expert knowledge of library systems, including collections, online databases, interlibrary loan and document delivery
