Short's Travel Management, a leading provider of NCAA Athletic travel for collegiate athletics, has a immediate opening for a Travel Consultant with it's Sports travel department. What you can expect to be doing:

As first contact for our Sports Travel clients, this position is responsible for domestic and basic international customer travel requests for group and individual travel. Travel requests are received and responded to via all means of business contact (phone, e-mail or portal) for air, hotel and car reservations in an efficient, courteous and timely manner. This position manages all functions relating to the booking, administrative and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents as it relates to customer requests and industry requirements necessary  to process electronic or other travel documents, including support of on-line bookings. Shifts may be 9a - 6p or 10a - 7p. CT, with the expectation to proactively manage and minimize overtime as well.


Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge, skills and abilities utilizing industry and proprietary technology, including Travelport+ GDS.
  • Communicates effectively and exhibits excellent customer service skills.
  • Continuously strives to provide clients with a positive experience, utilizing analytical and strategic skills.
  • Positively contributes to the team environment.
  • Understands the importance of quality and accountability with regards to revenue generating tasks and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be a good team player; dependable and reliable; flexible with the ability to multi-task.
  • We are a team at Short's Travel Management and as such, you may be expected to assist in other departments or handle tasks outside of your typical position scope for the benefit of our clients or company.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a travel consultant; Group Travel experience is essential.
  • Travelport+ experience is preferred.
  • Experience handling VIP clients is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends during peak travel periods and during emergency travel situations.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office skills preferred (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • GDS, internet, Concur Online booking tool and portal knowledge.
