About the roleRepresents the organization on claims-related legal matters. Provides legal advice and counsel to claims personnel. Maintains control of files and litigation costs. Develops, prepares, and implements claims litigation strategy.How does this role make an impact?

- Assigns cases to outside counsel and evaluates their performance.
- Provides legal advice and training to claims personnel to ensure consistent file handling.
- Controls litigation costs and claim severity.

- Responds to subpoenas, court orders and other legal requests in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

- May attend pertinent trials but is not attorney of record.

- May provide oversight and supervision to outside counsel on claims-related litigation.

Do you have what we're looking for?

Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
Must have passed the Bar exam.

This position can be hired either remote or hybrid based in Bloomington, Illinois. Candidates within 50 miles of Bloomington will work a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote.

Base Pay Range:

$110,000-$151,250

The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
