Job description

Senior Director of Business Development

Location: Singapore, Japan, or Australia. Willing to travel to the region as needed.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee all phases of business development activities to ensure business and financial objectives are attained.
  • Manage the development of new strategic business opportunities and relationships. May consult with management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the organization.
  • Manage, expand and optimize HDT channel for the Asia and INDOPACOM regions.
  • Assess potential business opportunities through activities such as market and economic analysis, monitoring competitive activity and identifying customer needs.
  • Manage and influence the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract(s).
  • Consult with executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the unit(s) and participate in the development of Group/Company objectives.
  • Act as the primary contact for business development. May lead progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance and to disseminate information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.
  • Identify business development issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specifications.
  • Ensure business leadership and excellence is maintained by managing and participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Lead cross functional teams to drive new product development, program positioning, and /or proposal responses.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for the region.
Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Location: Remote โ€“ Physically located in Singapore, Japan or Australia or willing to travel into the region as needed/required.
  • Bachelor's in Arts, Science, or technical field required; Masterโ€™s preferred.
  • 10+ years of business development experience required; knowledge of Asia-Pacific Defense, Emergency Support Markets.
  • Prior US Military background with INDOPACOM Joint Operations experience is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and problem-solve.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail.

This position requires access to or use of exportโ€‘controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Accordingly, applicants must be U.S. Persons or must be eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.
