The role provides deep subject‐matter expertise and acts as a senior escalation point for complex or business‐critical issues. The engineer leads and actively contributes to the delivery of global IT initiatives, including platform modernisation, cloud adoption, and automation. This includes defining technical standards, architecture patterns, operational processes, and documentation to ensure secure, stable, and scalable services. The role requires strong cross‐team and cross‐region collaboration, close engagement with Architecture and Security teams, and effective management of strategic vendor relationships. The Citrix Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the implementation and lifecycle management of a large‐scale Citrix estate, including Citrix Cloud–managed services, hybrid cloud integrations, and associated application delivery technologies.
Responsibilities:
Technical ownership and operational support of the organisation's Citrix infrastructure across multiple global data centers and cloud environments
Design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Citrix Cloud services, including control plane operations and on‐premises / cloud resource locations
Engineering and operational support of Citrix workloads hosted on‐premises and in public cloud platforms (e.g. Azure)
Proactively monitor, maintain, and enhance the Citrix environment, ensuring alerts and events are triaged, investigated, and resolved effectively
Evaluate emerging security threats and implement remediation strategies, including patching, configuration hardening, and architectural improvements
Define and maintain global standards, build patterns, and operational runbooks for Citrix platforms
Develop and maintain high‐quality technical documentation that accurately reflects the as‐built and as‐operated environments
Integrate automation and Infrastructure‐as‐Code (IaC) practices into platform provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
Design and maintain Terraform modules for repeatable, version‐controlled deployment of Citrix‐related infrastructure and supporting components
Collaborate closely with Architecture, Cloud, Network, Security, and Endpoint teams to deliver cohesive end‐user platforms
Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, including participation in out‐of‐hours support and major incident response when required
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, promoting engineering best practices and continuous improvement
Engage with third‐party vendors and partners to evaluate, design, and deliver tactical and strategic platform enhancements
Manage platform hardware, software, and cloud service lifecycles, ensuring compliance with end‐of‐life and end‐of‐support timelines
Maintain and continuously develop technical expertise relevant to the role
