About Empowered Services

Empowered Services provides one-on-one in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our focus is to hire and train Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help people build independence, maintain routines, and stay connected to their communities in meaningful ways.

Role Overview

We are hiring an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide consistent, structured care for individuals of all ages in the Yamhill County area. (No prior DSP experience required – paid training provided.)

This role centers around:

  • Supporting daily routines and household structure
  • Assisting with community-based activities and errands
  • Encouraging independence while maintaining clear expectations
  • Behavioral support
  • Emotional regulation
  • Crisis support

This is a strong fit for someone who is consistent, patient, and confident maintaining boundaries in a supportive way

Here are some examples of the current customers that are available:

  • Customer 232: Adolescent male in Lake Oswego that needs assistance with clear communication and structured transitions. Monitor for physical aggression towards siblings, self harm when upset and redirecting verbal aggression. Your schedule may look like: Monday-Friday 3pm to 7pm and every other weekend for 4-6 hour shifts each day
  • Customer 335: Teenage male who needs assistance with getting ready for school in the mornings. Customer does well with structure and benefits from someone who can keep him on task so he can be on time to school. Schedule may look like Monday-Friday 6:45am-8:30am.

  What You’ll Do

  • Support daily living routines (meals, hygiene, organization)
  • Assist with community access (shopping, errands, outings)
  • Provide emotional regulation support using calm, structured approaches
  • Maintain clear boundaries and consistent expectations
  • Assist with household upkeep and organization
  • Encourage independence and personal responsibility
  • Communicate updates with care teams and complete required documentation
  • Help maintain a safe, predictable, and respectful environment

  Compensation & Benefits

  • $23–$26 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Paid training
  • Flexible schedule based upon the customers needs

Full-time employees (30+ hours/week) may be eligible for:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match (3% Match)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements)
  • Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
  • Comfortable supporting personal care needs

Preferred:

  • Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles
  • Experience supporting individuals with I/DD
  • Strong communication and boundary-setting skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification

  Why This Role Stands Out

  • Consistent full-time schedule
  • Structured, routine-based support (not chaotic care)
  • Strong opportunity to build a long-term, stable working relationship
  • Supportive team and clear expectations
  • Meaningful work focused on independence and growth

Apply Today: If you are dependable, structured, and comfortable providing calm, consistent support with clear boundaries, we encourage you to apply for this Direct Support Professional (DSP) position.
