A Remote Direct Mail Programmer is a professional who develops and manages software scripts and applications for direct mail marketing campaigns while working remotely. They are responsible for creating customized data processing workflows, formatting mailing lists, and ensuring that personalized messages are accurately generated for large-scale mailings. Their work often involves programming languages such as SQL, Python, or specialized direct mail software, and they collaborate with marketing teams to ensure campaigns are delivered efficiently and on schedule. Job Description
Provides day-to-day product management for an assigned portfolio, partnering closely with a Product Director to translate strategic priorities into planning and delivery. Works alongside the Product Director, Product Owner, and cross-functional teams to keep execution moving between roadmap-level strategy and sprint-level delivery. This role operates in an AI-enabled product environment. The successful candidate will be a practiced user of AI tools and will be expected to apply them from day one to accelerate requirements definition, analysis, and reporting.
In addition, the successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of direct mail marketing, including campaign strategy, targeting, measurement, production workflows, postal economics, and USPS regulations. They should understand how postal rates, regulatory changes, production decisions, and operational efficiencies impact product strategy, pricing, profitability, and client outcomes. Experience working with direct mail solutions within financial services or other highly regulated industries is strongly preferred.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
  • Execute cross-functional delivery: Serve as the day-to-day execution lead on assigned product initiatives, coordinating with engineering, operations, data, and vendor partners in close partnership with the Product Director. Facilitate recurring backlog refinement with the Product Owner: prioritize and clarify backlog items, translate customer and market requirements into actionable user stories, and provide acceptance-criteria input. Serve as the team's first point of contact for in-sprint priority and scope questions, partnering with the Product Director on strategic or cross-portfolio decisions. 30%
  • Support financial analysis and reporting: Contribute to financial analyses and pricing model input for assigned products. Monitor and report on product-level revenue, margin, and pipeline performance, and share trends with the Product Director as part of ongoing portfolio review. Does not carry independent P&L ownership; collaborates with the Product Director in support of the VP's portfolio-level accountability. 20%
  • Support strategy execution: Develop a deep understanding of the direct mail marketing ecosystem, including campaign planning, audience strategy, targeting, production workflows, measurement methodologies, and the evolving role of direct mail within omnichannel marketing programs. Partner with the Product Director to identify opportunities for innovation, operational efficiency, and AI-enabled enhancements across the direct mail product portfolio. 15%
  • Support go-to-market delivery: For product launches, enhancements, or releases, support the go-to-market process, including operational documentation, sales enablement content, positioning input, and coordination on Sales training, in partnership with the Director. 15%
  • Evaluate and document ideas: Evaluate incoming product ideas and requests against established criteria, documenting recommendations to share with the Product Director. Support compliance and risk partners with documentation as needed. 10%
  • Support roadmap planning: Contribute to quarterly roadmap planning by documenting proposed features and projects, working within team capacity constraints, in partnership with the Product Director on prioritization. 5%
  • Prioritize features with the Product Owner: Maintain and refine feature-level priorities in day-to-day partnership with the Product Owner, consistent with the roadmap set in partnership with the Director. 5%

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (Required). Master's Degree (Preferred). In lieu of the above education requirements, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Experience
5+ years of product management or related experience acquired within or outside the company. Working knowledge of workflow and business relationships across functional areas. Knowledge of emerging technologies including AI tools and Microsoft Office software. Demonstrated, hands-on use of AI tools in day-to-day product work required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Analytical skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business and marketing information, financial reporting, and performance data.
  • Communication skills: Able to effectively write reports and correspondence, discuss ideas across the organization, and present information clearly.
