Job description

Job Title:- DevOps Engineer, Solaris to Oracle Migration
Duration:- 8+ months
Location:- Preferred to work onsite - Jacksonville, FL / Remote also
Summary:
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for automating the deployment and testing processes, monitoring and troubleshooting the infrastructure, and working with the development and operations teams to ensure the successful migration of Orion Oracle servers and Orion databases, and Solaris VMs (zones or LDOMs) to new servers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps
  • Experience with Solaris virtualization
  • Experience with Oracle database migrations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

Responsibilities:
  • Automate the deployment and testing processes for the migration
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the infrastructure during the migration
  • Work with the development and operations teams to ensure a smooth migration
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest DevOps technologies and trends
  • Other duties as assigned

In addition to the above responsibilities, a DevOps Engineer on this project will also specifically need to have the following skills and experience:
  • Experience with Solaris and Oracle technologies
  • Experience with migration and automation tools
