Overview
In this role, you will take ownership of supplier quality performance, working closely with global suppliers and cross functional teams to ensure products are right first time and ready for production. You'll lead quality planning, drive continuous improvement and use data led insights to strengthen supplier capability and support business growth. This role offers the chance to influence outcomes, partner with experts across engineering and procurement and contribute to a culture of high standards and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
As Supplier Quality Engineer (Supplier Excellence) your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following:
  • Act as the single point of contact between the organization and suppliers for all supplier quality related topics and issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance through coaching, training, performance management, recognition, and corrective actions, including supplier restriction or disqualification where required.
  • Monitor quality data within operational systems to ensure accuracy and develop reporting to track supplier trends and performance.
  • Review quality specifications and ensure supplier compliance; partner with engineering to clarify or update specifications when required.
  • Clearly communicate and enforce organizational quality standards, requirements, and expectations with suppliers.
  • Lead and validate supplier containment, corrective, and preventive actions, driving structured supplier quality improvement roadmaps.
  • Chair on-site (Supplier or TE site) workshops with key Focus suppliers and coordinate and support supplier engagement events at TE sites.

Candidate Profile
  • Motivated individual with the ability to learn quickly and work in a self-directed work environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to take ownership of actions and lead to closure. Strong project management skills
  • A clear communicator who can speak and present confidently to a diverse audience, including senior management
  • Technically competent to interface with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality as well as all levels within the Supplier's organization
  • Fluent in English; reading, writing, and speaking English language. French or Spanish are a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Operations or other related disciplines
  • Proficient with MS-Office and SAP products
  • Experience with Supplier Quality, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development or Supply Chain fields
  • Practical Problem Solving, 8D, 5 why, Fishbone experience
  • Certified AS9100 Auditor or similar QMS. Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Production Part Approval Process.
  • Willingness to travel and interact proactively with TE manufacturing sites and suppliers (+50%)

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $120,000 - $170,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
