Job description

Job Title: Application Developer Location: Oklahoma City, OK Type: Contract Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote Hours: 40.0

Overview We have a great opportunity for an experienced Application Developer who is willing to work on a multi-year contract on a hybrid basis. The position is mostly remote but the successful candidate must be willing to be in Oklahoma City on an as-needed basis. This role will be assisting the modernization from on-premise to cloud infrastructure for a critical application. The qualified candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working with C#, .Net, Web API, Angular, SQL, Azure DevOps and must be local in Oklahoma currently. This opportunity is only open to US Citizens or existing Green Card Holders at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure applications using C# .Net, Web API, Angular 16+, SQL, and Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Support the modernization of legacy systems and integration of new cloud-based solutions within Azure environment.
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into clean, maintainable code and documentation.
  • Participate in Agile SDLC processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and reviews.
  • Develop APIs, automation workflows, and system interfaces to improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform unit testing and code reviews, submitting pull requests for review and approval.
  • Assist in user story creation, backlog prioritization, and acceptance criteria definition.
  • Ensure adherence to secure coding practices and compliance with TRS business rules.
  • Manage multiple development tasks to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern application development frameworks, programming languages, and secure coding practices.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile.
  • Knowledge of business process analysis, functional design principles, documentation standards, user story development, and acceptance criteria definition.
  • Knowledge of TRS business rules, including those specific to the Pension Software System.
  • Familiarity with legacy systems architecture, dependencies, technologies, and integration points.
  • Skill in performing all aspects of application development, including coding, unit testing, documentation, code reviews, and submitting pull requests for TRS staff to review.
  • Skill in developing, enhancing, and maintaining application components that meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Skill in developing clear, actionable user stories and maintaining a prioritized backlog.
  • Skill in developing APIs, system interfaces, and automation workflows.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work output with minimal defects.
  • Ability to translate technical specifications into maintainable, production-ready software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with TRS technical staff, analysts, testers, and project managers.
  • Ability to manage multiple development tasks and meet established timelines.
  • Degree in Computer Science or MIS with 3-5 years’ experience or equivalent.
