What you will be doing
As a Senior Power BI Developer, you will design, build, and optimize business-critical dashboards and semantic models. You will work closely with business stakeholders and data teams to transform raw data into reliable, actionable insights. You will be responsible for the full BI lifecycle, from requirements gathering and data profiling to deployment, support, and ongoing optimization.
You will also establish and document standards, data definitions, and KPIs, ensuring data quality, lineage, and adherence to governance policies.
In your day-to-day you will be responsible for
  • Own the end-to-end BI lifecycle: requirements, data profiling, modeling, DAX/Power Query development, visualization, testing, deployment, and support
  • Build star and snowflake models in Power BI; design high-performing datasets (Import, DirectQuery, Composite), calculation groups, and incremental refresh
  • Create robust, consistent measures using DAX; optimize with tools like DAX Studio and Tabular Editor; tune performance (VertiPaq, query folding, aggregations)
  • Develop clear, maintainable reports and reusable templates aligned to UX best practices and accessibility
  • Implement governance and security: RLS/OLS, sensitivity labels, workspace/app permissions, certified datasets, deployment pipelines
  • Integrate with enterprise data sources (Azure SQL, Synapse, Databricks, SQL Server, Snowflake) and collaborate on ETL with Data Engineering (Power Query, ADF)
  • Support adoption and self-service enablement through training, documentation, and office hours
  • Monitor and iterate on usage and performance, providing ongoing enhancements

What you must have
  • 5+ years of experience building Power BI solutions in production environments
  • Strong DAX and data modeling skills, with deep understanding of filter context, relationships, calculation groups, and performance tuning
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query (M), Deployment Pipelines, and Gateway configuration
  • Solid SQL skills for querying, validation, and performance analysis
  • Experience with enterprise BI practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD for Power BI (ALM Toolkit), release management, and documentation
  • Working knowledge of Azure analytics stack (one or more): Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake
  • Ability to translate business questions into analytical designs; excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
