Job description

Job Title: Central Energy Plant Manager Location: Portland, Oregon Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $95,000.00 - $150,000.00 Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite Overview The Asset Manager III will be responsible to work with a set of company customers to review energy usage and strategies in order to implement the best practices. This will include directly managing the O&M of the CEP for the campus and working with and mentoring the owner's staff on the O & M and energy usage of multiple facilities as part of a greater campus effort. Responsibilities

  • Review energy usage on a daily basis for the facility and provide guidance, best practices, and modifications of current operations
  • Mentor the owner on energy strategies to optimize performance
  • Manage the Central Energy Plant (CEP) Operation and Maintenance, including subcontractors, operators, and internal service providers
  • Oversee Maintenance Reserve Accounts for the CEP
  • Ensure the plant operates efficiently by working with operators and conducting ongoing training of Plant Operators
  • Develop and maintain the Plant Operating Manual
  • Assist the EPC team with the coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction activities related to OMC operations
  • Coordinate on-site troubleshooting and diagnostics with remote support services team
  • Manage a team or multiple teams, including Asset Managers and other staff
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience managing multiple sites or teams, or equivalent management experience in a central plant or facility, or mechanical construction with a large subcontractor or MEP design consultant
  • Well versed in building codes and associated standards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle various projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of industry standards and company competitors
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to additional duties as necessary
  • 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET Accredited Program); PE preferred or FE working towards PE
  • Travel willingness of 10-25% to job site(s) or office location
  • Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in noisy and quiet environments; remaining stationary for prolonged periods
