Maximus is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Federal Marketing Principal Specialist to lead integrated marketing initiatives supporting our Federal Markets: Defense, Civilian, Federal Healthcare, National Security, and Space Sector business. This highly visible role serves as a critical partner to business development, capture, and growth leaders by developing and executing targeted marketing strategies that drive market awareness, customer engagement, and pipeline growth across federal agencies and mission-focused organizations.
The Federal Marketing Principal Specialist will translate complex technical capabilities into compelling, mission-relevant messaging and value propositions that resonate with government decision-makers and acquisition stakeholders. This individual will leverage deep knowledge of the federal defense marketplace, Department of Defense (DoD) priorities, acquisition processes, budget cycles, and emerging industry trends to develop impactful campaigns, sales enablement programs, executive communications, and customer engagement experiences.
The Federal Marketing Principal Specialist will translate complex technical capabilities into compelling, mission-relevant messaging and value propositions that resonate with government decision-makers and acquisition stakeholders. This individual will leverage deep knowledge of the federal defense marketplace, Department of Defense (DoD) priorities, acquisition processes, budget cycles, and emerging industry trends to develop impactful campaigns, sales enablement programs, executive communications, and customer engagement experiences.
Traveling to the corporate headquarters: Tysons, VA on an as needed weekly basis
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive integrated marketing strategies tailored to Defense, National Security and the Space Sector. Strategies will be built annually/quarterly, include demand generation, account-based marketing and pipeline support for key franchise deals.
- Translate technical capabilities into mission-relevant value propositions for government stakeholders.
- Monitor Defense and National Security trends, agency priorities, budget cycles and competitive landscape.
- Responsible for leading the development of sales enablement strategy and client-ready marketing materials, pitch decks, demos, and sales-related support materials, ensuring alignment to marketing objectives and business development outcomes.
- Responsible for leading the strategy and execution for major defense conferences and industry events, industry days, industry event briefings, roundtables, and other immersive client experiences.
- Lead the execution and optimization of marketing efforts for the Federal Defense and National Security sector, aligning marketing campaigns to overall business growth objectives and influencing campaign performance.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 10+ years of relevant professional experience required.
- Strong understanding of Fed acquisition process, DOD structure and mission priorities, excellent writing and storytelling, project management, data driven decision making and collaboration required.
Job Specific Requirements
-Must have 5-7 years of Marketing experience supporting a Federal Enterprise business including DoD (Department of Defense), Civilian and/or Federal Healthcare.
-Proficient with Salesforce, Power BI analytics, and AI automation platforms.
-Experience managing enterprise marketing campaign budgets and tactics, along with tracking ROI across multi-channel campaigns.

Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
